Lmao! See Some of the Funniest Text Messages Ever Sent by Parents

It’s so adorable and amusing sometimes to watch parents grapple
with technology and modern-day tech slangs.
In their quest to figure out some of their apparent technological
conundrums, here are some hilarious text messages some parents
sent to their kids:

“I Scored 17 Out Of 400 In JAMB” – Timaya Reveals

Despite not making waves academically, Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa is
certainly an inspiration to thousands of youths across the country
with his endless string of hit songs and his ‘grass to grace’ story.
Timaya made sure to drop this titbit during his eclectic performance
at the 3 stage of Star Music Trek which held in Uyo on April 12
2014.
“Education is not for me,” the hit artiste confessed, “It is important
YES but not for me for me”
“I scored 17 in JAMB, That’s when I gave up. I don’t have the
brain for education but for those of you who do please do it its good.”
He further stressed.
No one can dispute that the massively popular Niger Delta star is
still so passionate about education or at least strongly encourages
others to have it.
It’s thrilling to note too that despite this ‘lack’, he has risen to
become one of the most influential artistes in the country today who
consistently showcases his performances with an enduring message to
young people to always harness their talent and exploit it.

Exclusive interview with Big Brother The Chase ’13 winner, Dillish

Beautiful Dillish, the Namibian winner of the just concluded Big
Brother Africa The Chase show was recently interviewed and she
had a lot to say. Read interview below
How do you feel winning the Big Brother show?
I feel great. Winning the money is a great opportunity. It is a
lifetime experience in the house. The money is going to change my
life. I am so grateful to Africa and to God. It is a perfect feeling.
Did you ever think you would become the winner?
I didn’t think I would become the winner.  As you know, they said I
was the underdog in the house. I didn’t see myself as the winner,
but things changed for me, especially the week I was up for eviction
alongside Angelo and Bimp. Africa saved me that week and that was
when I realised I might have an impact out there.
You were one of the few housemates that didn’t
get into any relationship. Why?
I made up my mind I wasn’t going into any relationship. It was the
initial plan. Even before I got in, I made it very clear in the
introductory video that I have somebody out there who is very special
in my life and I wasn’t looking for love. When I walked into the
house the first day, I told them I wasn’t interested in any
relationship and they shouldn’t try me. I was already in a
relationship of four years and I wasn’t going to give it up for
anybody in the house.
Now that you have so much money, won’t it
affect your relationship?
It will certainly not affect the relationship. My boyfriend is quite
successful. The money is basically for me and my family and my
future. It shouldn’t affect my relationship at all.
Who was your greatest rival in the house?
All the housemates were my competitors. They were all strong
rivals. At the beginning, Bolt got on my nerves, but somehow, we
made peace. I got along with everybody. It was easy connecting with
them.
Why did you decide to be part of the BBA?
I have always been a fan of the show. I wanted to be a part of it last
year, but something stopped me. This year, a friend got the form
and filled it for me. I went for the audition and Big Brother chose
me. I think it was my time and my destiny this year. I am so
happy that I experienced it and won.
What do you hope to achieve in future?
I am ready for anything. I am thinking of getting into radio or TV
or anything that has to do with entertainment. I am just taking it
step by step. I am ready to start-up my career in entertainment.
Was there a time you felt like leaving the house?
Oh yes. The first time I got nominated was my lowest moment in
the house. I got nominated the second week and I thought I should
go and ring the bell and tell Big Brother I wanted to go home. But
something spoke to me and I decided to stay back.
How easy was it to survive in the house?
It wasn’t easy at all. In the outside world, we are so used to our
mobile phones, to the extent that we even sleep with them. I missed
my freedom and being able to watch TV. But in all, it was a good
experience.

Aftermath of ‘Nyanya 2’ blast: Residents scared to leave their homes

Four days after the bomb blast that rocked the Abuja suburb of
Nyanya, the second within a fortnight, terrified residents have opted
to keep off public places.
Findings by Sunday Vanguard indicated that the residents of Masaka,
Karu and Kugbo, which share boundaries with the bus terminal that
was bombed in the first incident, have been overwhelmed by fear and
shock.
Investigations also showed that banks, schools and other public
utilities around the scene of the blast have also been shut, leaving
their patrons stranded.
On Friday, none of the financial houses close to the scene of the blast
was open to the public, while restaurants, business centres,
pharmacies and drinking spots were also under lock and key.
The fear of the residents was heightened on Friday when the police
cordoned off the scene of the blast, claiming that security agents
discovered and defused three more unexploded bombs in the area.
The police also said they did now want anyone to contaminate the scene
of the blast so that it could continue with its forensic investigation.
“The Bomb Disposal Squad of the Nigeria Police has along with other
security agencies cordoned off the scene of the explosion, where the
squad recovered and safely defused three unexploded Improvised
Explosive Devices.

In order to avoid the contamination of crime scene and protect the
public from the risk associated with such crime scenes, members of
the public are strongly advised to keep away from all scenes of blasts
and other related crimes,” police spokesman, Frank Mba, said.
Apparently fearing further attack, commuters have also avoided the
bus terminal.
Many long buses being used by the Abuja Urban Mass Transport
Authority were seen without passengers on the Nyanya-Abuja Road on
Friday and Saturday despite repeated assurances by the FCT
Minister, Bala Mohammed, that the residents would be protected
from attacks.
Apart from visiting hospitals to assure the relatives of the bomb
victims, Mohammed also told journalists that necessary steps had
been taken to ensure the safety of the residents of Abuja but did not
say what the measures were, leaving the residents to doubt that any
attention had been given to their security.
‘’We have decided to remain indoors for now because we don’t trust
anyone anymore,” Andrew Ichete, an ICT worker, whose compound in
Kugbo was shaken by the force of the blast, said.
A resident of Masaka, Anne Nelson, said she and her husband had
opted to remain at home until the security situation became clearer.
“Today, my husband and I did not step out of the house because we do
not know what terrorists will do next,” Ann told Sunday Vanguard.
Meanwhile, soldiers and police continued with their ‘stop-and-search’
operation on major roads leading to and out of the FCT yesterday.
The  search of cars by security agents has led to gridlock on many
parts of the capital city.
No fewer than 20 persons were killed on Friday when Nyanya was
attacked by terrorists, the second time two weeks. The first attack, on
April 14, left over 100 dead and many others injured.

Brazil 2014: Enyeama, Emenike, Osaze, Mikel, Uche’re Keshi’s biggest assets — Bazuaye

As Nigerian football fans await  the final release of the Super Eagles
list for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, former Nigerian
International, Baldwin Bazuaye, has affirmed that players like
Vincent Enyeama, Osaze Odemwingie, Emmanuel Emenike, Mikel Obi
and Ikechukwu Uche will be Keshi’s biggest assets at the competition.
In this interview with Sunday Vanguard sports, the former Lobi
Stars FC of Markudi assistant manager and ex- Head coach of the
troubled Insurance of Benin, advises Stephen Keshi to be professional
in the selection of players for the Mundial, adding that those calling
on him to dump experienced players from the list do not mean well
for him. Excerpts:
Coach we have less than two months to FIFA World Cup in Brazil,
are you comfortable with Super Eagles readiness for the competition?
I would say ‘Yes and No,’ yes in the sense that we have very competent
players that can make Nigeria smile at the Mundial if well selected,
and if the coaches are allowed to do their job professionally. I say this
without any bias. Coaching is the most difficult job to do, especially
in this part of the world. It is Hire and Fire. We seat on gun powder
ready to explode any time any moment. This is our fifth time at the
FIFA World Cup and we did not go to Ghana to pick players, those
that have made Nigeria proud at football competitions at the CAF
and FIFA levels are from this country. We have never lacked players,
but the problem is getting the right ones. Nigeria parades an array of
stars in most part of Europe doing very well in their various clubs. So
if the players are given shirts according to merit, Nigeria will be the
revelation at the World Cup. Nigerians are ready to support the team
if only things are done right.
I’m also very confident in this present crop of Super Eagles players
because they are very young, energetic and play top flight football in
Europe. They are capable of making things happen. In our days as
players, we did not get such backing from the Federal Government, let
alone being paid in dollars, so the players have every thing going for
them. The only angle I want the NFF to improve on is in the area of
friendly games. We have not had enough International Grade A
friendly matches to get the boys fully ready for the show.
Again the other aspect is the issue of rumor making the round that
the NFF might go ahead to get some one else to head the team.
Nigeria coaches have all it takes to coach any National side in the
world. The present Eagles technical crew headed by Stephen
Okechukwu  Keshi has it all, they have  proved to us that they can do
it looking at their track records in the past two years. So the NFF
should jettison that idea and give them the best support ever.
As a football manager, how would you rate Alhaji Aminu Maigari,
the NFF president so far?
Without mincing words, the Head of the NFF Alhaji Aminu
Maigari, has done favorably well in turning our football around,
though they were some crisis at the beginning but thank God they were
able to manage it well.

Stephen Keshi with Mikel Obi

And today every football follower in the country is happy with the
development going on in our football. I’m particularly happy with
the recruitment of ex- Nigerian stars into the Board of the FA. This
is the kind of things we want that can help move the game forward in
Nigeria. I also want to use this opportunity to appeal to them to also
consider some us who are still very young and have some thing to offer
to Nigerian Football.
Why have you tipped Vincent Enyeama, Osaze Odemwingie, Emmanuel
Emenike, Mikel Obi, and Ike Uche as players to watch out for at the
world cup? Like I said earlier, Nigeria is a country blessed with
football talents across the length and breadth of this nation and the
problem we have always had is selection. So if the coaches can, for the
love of the game, put sentiment aside and pick the best, Nigeria will
go far in Brazil. Just take a critical look of the players I mentioned to
you now, they are players that have been tested and trusted in their
fields, so you do not need a second Prophet Moses to tell you that they
need to be on your World Cup list. Look at Vincent Enyeama, a
goalkeeper of high repute, full of experience, skill and all that it takes
to wear the national team jersey No I. He was at the South Africa
2010 World Cup, Nigerians saw his exploit. With Enyeama in the
post, I’m very confident that Eagles will go far.
Now talk about Peter Osaze Odemwingie, despite having some rough
time with his career last season, I make bold to say that among the
current crop of present day Super Eagles strikers, Osaze Odemwingie
is one of the best if not the best. He is intelligent, committed, devoted
and highly a business-like player. Very tactical on the ball and above
all, with a high level of experience that any coach needs from a
player.
Emmanuel Emenike is another striker that has paid his dues, who I
know will do very well with the combination of his team-mates
especially when it comes to scoring goals. Keshi must be very careful
in his selection so as not to make mistakes that may ruin the team.
Also for the interest of the game and the country, it is time we put
the past behind us, no matter what must have transpired between the
out-of-favour players and the technical crew, there is chance for
forgiveness. All over the world, players are extremely difficult people
to manage and again you do not judge players by the kind of things
they say or do, but by what they can do for you as a coach to win your
games in times of difficulties. I have no doubt about the capability of
our players, they have what it takes to make us proud at the World
Cup.
Your father, Willy Bazuaye won the 1996 Olympic Gold medal for
Nigeria, what are you doing as a young coach to surpass your father’s
records ?
I thank God that my father was able to reach that level of
achievement in football as a coach. Not so many people remember him
today because this is a country where people forget so easily. My
father did his best despite the fact that somebody was there taking
the credit, Nigerians know the person that made that dream possible.
Today Pa Willy is down but thank God that his children and few
other people like Governor Fashola of Lagos state remembered him on
his sick bed.  Back to your question, I’m really doing my best to
surpass my father’s track records in coaching business. I’ve not really
had that opportunity to prove myself at the national level. I have
worked as assistant manager in various Glo Premier League clubs and
also headed Insurance FC of Benin, but I really want to coach any of
the junior national team side. I have what it takes to handle any
junior national side. Some of us must be given an opportunity to prove
ourselves. I’m praying and waiting for my time, I know one day it
will come to pass and my dream of working with the NFF will be
achieved.
I understand that Edo state government has not paid you people for
the past five years while you were in Insurance as manager, is it
true?
I have spent half of my years working for Insurance. I played for
them, I captained the team, I have served the team with all that is
in me as a coach, and as I speak with you now, I’m still very much
ready to work for my state. Yes they are indebted to many of us not
only me and I’m sure that one day they will be touched to pay us our
money. We worked for Insurance on empty stomach. I also have no
regret working for my state.
Does that name Bazuaye give you any edge over your contemporaries  on
this job?
Yes the name Willy Bazuaye is well respected outside the shores of
this state, you know that a prophet has no honour in his place. I’m
very proud to have come from this family of Willy Bazuaye. Those
that know the worth of my father always respect me each time they see
me. My father has contributed his own part to the growth of Nigerian
football, it is up to me to do my own part too.

"I have Always wanted to be a reverened sister" – BBA`s Beverly Osu Reveals!!

Beverly Osu who represented Nigeria in the just concluded Big
Brother Africa 2013, has became one of the most talked-about
housemate has now revealed that being controversial has never been
her goal.
In a recent interview in Abuja, she talks about life before the house
and what her future plans her.
Life before Big Brother
Before Big Brother, I was into entertainment. Big Brother Africa was
just a platform for me to do what I wanted to do. Before now, I
wanted to be an actress, I wanted to be a reverend sister, but things
did not just work out the way I planned it.
Being a controversial housemate
Going to the house, I didn’t have any plan or strategy. I just went in
there. While in the house, I used to be blunt every time, it used to be
me living my normal life. The controversial side, I don’t know
because I used to be a very sweet person.
On how she was never up for eviction
I didn’t do anything. I know that people picked my name but I
wasn’t bothered because I also got to pick one or two people. I knew
when Natasha or anybody else picked me for eviction but I
understood it was just a game. However, I was generally liked in the
house because I’m a people’s person.
On her relationship with Angelo
Me and Angelo were so business minded people, we think alike, we
do a lot of things together. We have projects we are working on
together so, it was much like we went to BBA as individuals but we
didn’t come there to mark time. And now, we have a platform we
have to use. Now, he is in his country but when there is something
to do, we will go together. It is not that we won’t have our time but
it’s more of the business because we all came for something in our
lives and since we have gotten the opportunity, we should use it
right.
Her future plans
School, my career-acting, so many things in next year let me feel
I’m not sure what to say next because my voice is Ok

‘2015 presidential election may not hold’

By Olayinka Ajayi

Veteran politician and second republic governor of old Kaduna State,
Alhaji Balarabe Musa, is worried that there appears to be a
conspiracy to stop the 2015 presidential election.
Balarabe, in this interview, also speaks on the insecurity challenge the
nation is facing, the hostilities between Fulani hersdmen and locals in
some parts of Nigeria, and the on-going National Conference which
he describes as President Goodluck Jonathan’s strategic committee.
How do you see the clashes between Fulani herdsmen and their host
communities, the most recent of which is the clash in Benue State
that saw Governor Suswan narrowly escaping death?
The latest we have now is the problem of criminal activities beyond
cattle rearing and it’s becoming an insurgency which is worse than
Boko-Haram.
Some people are of the opinion that the alleged violent herdsmen are
Boko-Haram members in disguise?
They are not Boko-Haram members in disguise. They are worse than
that. They are more organized and better equipped than Boko-Haram.
All I can say is that the insurgency is purely orchestrated to
destabilize Nigeria for political reasons starting with the North and
then spreading throughout the country.
Already  it is active in the North-east, North-west, South-south. I
believe they are organized by internal forces big enough to challenge
the Federal Government in collaboration with outside forces that have
interest in controlling Nigeria; these people are not just local Boko-
Haram and cattle rearers. The bombing in Abuja is a clear
indication.
It is a continuation of the distabilisation of the peace of Nigeria for
political reasons. The aim of the insurgency is to disorganise our co-
existence as a nation.
Some people are of the view that there is the need to re-creates
grazing route to bring  peaceful co-existence  between  host communities
and the Fulani herdsmen?
That is not a problem because President Jonathan is already doing
that. In the first place, the Fulani herdsmen are not organized enough
to embark on negotiating an issue like that.
How best do you think insurgency in the country can be curtailed?
Unfortunately we don’t have a National Conference that is truly
democratic in nature. It is a National Conference that is built on what
the President wants. If it is  a true legislative National Conference, it
can start the process of resolving the problem because it would have
been national and it would have been representative.
Why we need the National Conference to do that is because the
government is partially responsible for what is happening either in
terms of connivance or in terms of incompetence.
Do you mean the on-going National Conference is not credible enough
to address the issues facing us as a nation?
The on-going National Conference is not democratic and does not
represent us enough to address the issues facing us as a nation. The
means of selecting the delegates  was not electoral in process because
nobody there was elected. In other words,  you can say that every
delegate there was appointed by the President either directly or
indirectly.
So the conference is not a true representation of the nation. With the
undemocratic nature of the National Conference, I don’t see it having
any impact on the problems facing us as a nation. Insurgency is a
true indication that the CONFAB is not genuine enough to solve our
problems is as a country. We cannot have a truly on-going National
Conference and  insurgency will be going on! The National Conference
can never be relevant because of these challenges!
Here are strategic national problems, they should be able to deal with
them. But the President wants a National Conference and there is no
need wasting time fighting the President over it, let us see what the
conference will expose. The National Conference, as far as I am
concerned, is not a true National Conference, it is a strategic
committee of Mr. President because he appointed everybody  without
election and he also pointed out the agenda that guides what  would be
discussed and what should not be discussed.
He also decided whether the report will be submitted to the National
Assembly or  make it legal through referendum. You are aware that
in our nascent democracy, the President is so powerful that he can
decide anything and no one will challenge him.
Look at what is going on the NNPC alleged missing  $10 billion. The
suspended CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi first alleged that it was $
20 billion which led to the action against him and they admitted that
it is $10 billion but it has not been accounted for, and what is the
orchestrated National Conference doing about it?
Is there any country in the world with this kind of scandal and
nothing is done to address it? We are talking about an amount
equivalent to the 2014 budget of the Federal Government and nobody is
talking about it. With that situation, do we expect anything good to
come out of the conference?
This is the reason the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu
Tambuwa, said the President is encouraging corruption because where
does the money to fund the conference come from? Of course it is not
from the 2014 budget because it has not been provided for. This is
similar to what former President Obasanjo did and got away with it.
What do you think is the best way to curtail insurgency bedeviling the
North?
It is in the hands of government to solve the problem; if they can’t,
the southern people can keep to themselves through whatever means
until it will reach the stage when the sovereign people of Nigeria will
withdraw the mandate they gave them under the 1999 Constitution.
With the multifarious challenges facing the nation,  do you see
Nigeria remaining one nation come 2015?
It is probably the reason the insurgency is becoming stronger because
maybe the intention is not to have the 2015 presidential election and,
you know, it is stated in the 1999 Constitution that if election is not
held, the President has no power to hand over to anybody but to
continue. Let us not ignore the fact that it could be a conspiracy
staring us in the face.
